Dedicated to Pirate Turner who posted a request for a B/X using the words:
speedo, leather, silk, moon, tree, wind, gail, treasure, rum and cat
Note: To force myself to pay more attention to writing, the other day I
challenged myself to write a fic for each of the lists I own, while at the
same time taking improv challenges from my readers. the stories are for the
most part short and quick scene fics. Just something to bring me to the
keyboard. I've currently written four snapshot fics in various fandoms
this snapshot fic was written for the

Xander Harris stood in front of the mirror and scrutinized his appearance in
the full length mirror. Turning one way and the next, He sucked in a breath
and pressed a hand against his stomach. A dark scowl tugged at his brows and
he tossed over his shoulder, "This damned legskin speedo makes me look
majorly fat from the belly up."

"You're not fat," Buffy's laughing voice floated up the stairs. "You're
just... happy."

"Happy," Xander grumbled, glaring at his reflection. "Happy as in needing a
freaking leather corset, maybe. A wet one so it can shrink as it dries."

Buffy appeared at the doorway, thier sleeping son in arms "Did you bring the
cat in? The weather is starting to blow up a gale."

As if to reinforce her words the wind hurled a tree branch against the
window. Xander lost interest in his reflection and moved to stare out the
window at the brightly shining moon. "Hard winds used to be the least of our
worries, Buff. Hard to believe we're living a normal life nowadays."

"Do you miss it, Xan?" Buffy asked softly.

"Have to admit fighting off demons and vamps kept the old waistline in
line," he said with a chuckle, patting his thickening midsection. "It'll be
nice to see the old gang again." He turned back to his wife and son who had
approached to stand at his side, wrapping his arms around them both. "No, I
don't miss it. Guess I'm getting old."

"You're never be old to me."

Xander chuckled softly then pressed a loving kiss to his son's head, amazed
at the silk feel in those golden strands so very much like his wife's own
tresses. "I can't believe how lucky I am to have won the treasure at the end
of the rainbow in both of you."

Buffy grinned saucily. "You always could talk sap, even without a belly full
of rum."

Xander ran a finger over her smiling lips. "You put our boy down for bed and
I'll show you just how sappy this ...happy man can be."

"mmmmm, sounds good," She moved across the room, throwing over her shoulder,
"Just remember the gang will be here early tomorrow for the fourth of July
party. think you're up to it, old man?"

Xander's bark of laughter followed her through the hallway. "I'll show you
old man once you get back here, little lady."

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I've made a self-imposed challenge to myself to write
something for each of my many lists so I need your help...That said, I'm
taking requests...to keep things fair, if you would like to see more
Jumpstreet, send me a list of 5-10 words. You might include a simple theme
as well. Anything to inspire me. If you'd like something for one of the
other lists (include fandom and list), or even something not associated with
the lists (include fandom).. same thing, improv me and since I'm taking
requests, let me know which WIPs you would like to see worked on. Oh ad I do
reserve the right to decline a challenge if I am unfamiliar with the fandom.
