Blair quickly got his mother started towards freedom, then returned to his
sanctuary to tend his injuries. That accomplished, he took a moment to
gather various herbs and oils and made his way to the chambers he now shared
with the man who was his bondmate.

Finding the chambers empty, Blair moved about the room, firing incense that
had always calmed him when he was afraid. The gently sweet fragrance wisped
on grey smoke, drifting in a traceable direction to all corners. He breathed
in deeply, letting the delicate fragrance trip over his senses and ease the
swarming buzz of his feelings of betrayal.

The minutes ticked by, and still Blair remained alone in their chambers with
his troubling but incense-tamed emotions. An hour slid away, and no one
came.

Sharp teeth worrying his lower lip, Blair rose and went to the door,
thinking to hunt down his missing bondmate. Before he could twist the knob,
his hand fell away from the door and he paced back to the center of the
room, only to turn back and take several steps back across the room.

"No," he stomped down the over-whelming urge to seek out the big warrior
viciously. "No." He drifted to the side table and poured himself a glass of
wine, gulping it down in an attempt to calm his nerves. His hand shook as he
poured the second glass, spilling a bit on his hand. Pulling a frustrated
face, he licked it off.

Restless, he roamed the room, finding himself at the foot of the bed. He
scowled, his memories flashing back to the intimate time spent there
earlier.

The warrior had been so very persuasive in his seduction. His words had been
just right, convincing him even through his virginal fears.

And it had been good. The intimacy. His body had vibrated under the
warrior's sensual attentions.

Even now, just remembering the games they had played, he felt the newly
discovered sensations of desire firing his blood. He cast a scowl toward the
closed door, doubts flaring through his thoughts.

The enormity of what he had done in drinking the fertility potion sliced
through him suddenly and fear spiked in his heart. Had he made a reckless
mistake? Was this warrior worthy of his all too possible death? He wasn't
ready to die. Not for the man who claimed him. Not for a man who, he had no
doubt, was cheating on him even now with the breath-taking man at arms.

Hurriedly, he moved toward the door, reaching for the knob just as it turned
and the big warrior stepped through into the room. Blair hastened a step
backward, his gaze darting around for a source of protection.

Ellison titled his a curious glance. "I would have expected a warmer welcome
from my bondmate."

"Mayhap you should go back to your lover. Surely he would give you the warm
welcome you desire." Blair's tone was scathing.

"Lover?" Ellison pressed the door closed, glaring down his nose at the mage.

"You dare deny what I know is fact?" Blair snorted. "Dare you say the angry
warrior below is not your lover? I am not a fool."

"Warrior below....Rafe?" Ellison chuckled. "You are angry because Rafe spoke
the words running through the rest of my warrior's minds?"

"Oh yes, it would seem in your mind I am so stupid that I should believe all
your warriors would be concerned that you'd taken to mate a man for bondmate
instead of a woman. A man who could not bear you off-spring." Blair whirled
on his heel, giving the warrior his back. "I am mage, Warrior. That does not
make me so unworldly as you would apparently believe."

"What difference, Bondmate?" Ellison closed the distance between them
grasping Blair's shoulders and spinning him around, enveloping him within
his embrace. "What difference if Rafe is...was my lover or not. Would you
punish me because before we bonded, I was not as pure of heart as your folk,
Blair? By the gods, my precious bondmate, I am a man, a warrior, with needs
of a sensual kind."

"As am I," Blair whispered.

"Oh, my precious mage," Ellison chuckled darkly, cupping Blair's face and
forcing Blair to meet his gaze. "I know you are a man. A beautiful,
passionate, sensual man. One I hold in great worth." He bent, brusing his
lips gently over Blair's. "Come now, my own. Don't be angry with me."

A shuddering sigh tore through the mage and he laid his head against
Ellison's broad chest. "I dare not."

"Dare not?"

"Be angry." Blair grumbled. "Tis only me who suffers my anger." he fingered
the collar at his throat pensively. "I would prefer the pain end." He did
not voice 'For now.' even though the words screamed in his head.

Ellison hummed his agreement. "As do I. It pains me to see you suffering
needlessly." He held Blair a bit away from him, running a finger under the
collar. "Pretty as this is, perhaps it would be better if you weren't
wearing it in the public areas."

"You said I had to..."

"I know what I said, Little wizard." Ellison laid a finger on Blair's lips,
smiling softly. "But you wore the collar for all to see this eve. This is my
home...Our home now, and the king played fast and false with me. I see no
reason to obey his dictates in this case."

"You have no fear I might turn my magic against you?"

Jim's eyes were sharp, hard as they sliced into him. "Would you?"

"Bondmate," Blair cupped the warrior's face with a gentle hand. "You know so
little of the mage." He moved to turn away.

Ellison's hand on his forearm halted him and turned him back into a hard
embrace. "I am willing to learn." He murmured against Blair's hair. "If you
are patient with me... and willing to teach me."

At the possessive touch of his lover, the bond within Blair, or maybe it was
the magic of the potion he'd drunk, flared, burning hot and warming his
blood. He pressed his body against Jim slithering over him as if he could no
get close enough.

Startled by the sudden display, Jim set Blair back enough to gaze into
Blair's eyes, and easily read the need blazing there. A low growl escaped
his lips as he scooped the squirming bundle into his arms and set him back
down on his knees on the bed. His hands tangled in the neck of the gowns and
he ripped them down the middle, exposing Blair to his own hungry eyes.

A flicker of fear danced in Blair's eyes, tamping down the madness Blair's
desire stirred in Ellison. "I won't harm you, Little Wizard. Trust me."

Blair met his passion-darkened eyes. A smile ghosted his lips and he drew
Jim in for a testing kiss while his hands busyed themselves by ridding Jim
of his shirt then moving on to do the same with the trousers.

Jim kicked out of the pants and cast aside the remains of Blair's clothes as
well, easing the smaller man down to the soft bed. His lips whispered over
Blair's face, his neck, drifting lower to suckle at his breast

Blair's body warmed, a blazing embodiment of desire. Words of passion pour
from his lips as he thrashed against Jim, needing the contact to cool the
fires burning in his loins.

Caught up in the fires, Jim rolled Blair onto his stomach and urged Blair to
lift his hips so he could slide a pillow under them.

Magic seemed to glow around the two lovers as Jim slid slowly and carefully
into Blair. Blair's moans of pleasure filled the air, a sensual song that
wove around the pair that propelled them to completion.

Sated, Jim rolled off Blair and pulled him into his arms, craddling him as
he drifted back from the surreal realm of passion.
