I'm forwarding the post I just got from Walter updating us on the glitching
blue screen of death". Walter has provided us with a new index mesage,
directing you all to the old site, but you must approach the site through
the index page http://www.squidge.org/~peja/cgi-bin/index.php to get the
fandoms url. Another working enterance is http://www.wwomb.org Once again,
I want to remind you a lot of links on that section of the archive have
unlinked, due to being bounced of mainstream site bases.

Now on to the forwarded post from Walter...

Squidge is down at the moment (just the website). I can bring it up, but
the only thing is, WWOMB and the new NCIS site will NOT be up, at least not
the database part (Peja, your static site will work just fine - Ester, yours
is totally down). I will do everything I can to bring them up, but it may
not be until Thursday evening when both are totally back up and functioning.

The whole thing started with a database and automatic reboot. The database
server system would not come up after the reboot. My partner worked on the
system for me, but was not able to bring it up. I'm much more of a linux
geek, so I'm confident the system will be up soon, but like I said, could be
Thursday evening.

That's what happened. Now to tell you how I'm preparing now to make sure it
doesn't happen again in the future.

Currently the systems are backed up to an external USB. That's the great
thing. However, like in situations like we have now, the database and the
backup files are not available. I'm installing a network filesystem for
backups, so that even if the server goes down, the files become available.
At that point, I can dump the database from those files onto a new host, so
even if I lose one host, another one will be up and running within an hour.

Again, I cannot apologize enough for the issue we're having right now. You
have my word that this will be resolved soon, and I will do everything in my
power to keep it from happening again in the future.

PEJA
http://www.squidge.org/~peja/cgi-bin/index.php
TO MY READERS: In an attempt to improve my story output, I've challenged
myself to write something for each of my lists and post something new every
couple days. At this time I'm only writing stories and WIPs that are
requested, so if you have something you want added to, you know how to get
it...

1. Post me a 5-10 word improv
2. Request a new chapter/sequel to your favorite current story
3. Send me a simple challenge in any fandom.
